Our committed caregivers receive ongoing training and support.
Screening
- We inspect all homes and require they meet the health and safety guidelines set down by the Day Nursery Act.
- We require potential Caregivers to supply substantial references involving past experience.
These are personally verified by us before any children are placed in the home.
- We require all our Caregivers to complete a medical form ensuring they are in good health and all immunizations are up to date.
- Potential Caregivers, together with anyone else in the home who is over 18 years of age, are required to have a Criminal Reference Check.
Training
- Training seminars covering such topics as nutrition, creative activities and health care are offered to our Caregivers on an ongoing basis, as well as ongoing training throughout our monthly visits.
- We continually update and educate, enabling us to provide and maintain the highest standards in child care programming available.
- Caregivers are fully trained in Infant/Child CPR and Emergency First Aid.
Support
- Home Child Care Consultants visit each home unannounced on a monthly basis to ensure that all homes meet the standards set out in the Day Nursery Act.
- During the visit, a note is left for you informing you about your child’s progress and the program offered in the home that day.
- Consultation is available regarding day-to-day programming, discipline, nutrition and age appropriate activities.
