Helping children develop positive self-esteem and self-discipline.
Caring For Kids Behaviour Management Policy
Caring For Kids encourages non-aggressive behaviour. Our goal is to help children to develop a positive self-esteem in a safe and nurturing environment where they feel comfortable and at home.
We are committed to developing a positive sense of self-worth in all children and encourage self-discipline, self-control, and respect for others and their property. Children are expected to demonstrate respect towards others and themselves, as well as take responsibility for their own actions.
Our Caregivers are directed to use a variety of discipline methods to help the children achieve self-discipline. Discipline is used in a positive, caring manner. It is recommended that you discuss with your Caregiver the methods of discipline that work well so you both can be consistent with redirecting your child’s behaviour. All of our Caregivers are required to sign a Behaviour
Management Policy to ensure they fully understand positive techniques to redirect children and help them to reach their fullest potential.
The following forms of discipline are NOT permitted:
- Corporal Punishment – spanking, striking directly or with object, shaking, throwing or other forms of aggressive contact.
- Harsh, humiliating, belittling or degrading responses whether verbal, emotional or physical.
- Restriction of the usual comforts i.e. shelter, clothing, bedding or food.
- Confinement in a lockable room or structure.
- Isolation or physical restraint.
